<v Auckland, August 13. An inquest was, held hy Mr F. V. Frazer, S.M., at the Coroner’s Court to-day, into the circumstances connected with the death of George Pardy, who was found with a Indict wound in his head in Slussex street, Grey Lynn, on Tuesday morning. Sergeant McDonnell stated that he searched the body and Found the following letter:—“lt has always been my wish, when dead, to lie buried at sea. I have many friends among

fishermen, to whom I am well known, and f know one of them, if asked, would be only too glad to do this last favor. A pauper’s grave is what I over dreaded. Lately I have had an aching heart, and no future seems to me the only thing. God only knows I have tried to lie kind to my two little ones. P.S.—The revolver is the property of C. Davis, in whose house 1 am living. We have no money and we are in debt.” A verdict was returned to the effect that deceased met his death hy a bullet wound self

inflicted, while in a state of extreme mental depression.
