The report of the Royal Commission on food supply recommends the appointment of a permanent commission consisting of a president with an expert knowledge of political economy and two members, of whom one shall possessa gricultnral ajtid the other commercial knowledge. If found desirable their functions might he extended to cover all matters affecting the cost of living. A single authority should he established with the sole right of conducting a mark' t for fish, fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry, etc. Co-operation in production, transport and distribution should he strongly encouraged hy Government assistance and facilities for education in agriculture should be improved and extended.
