TAR-SPRAYER TO BE BOUGHT

BOROUGH COUNCIL’S DECISION

The Borough Council has for some time been discussing the matter of buying a tdf-sprayer, arid last night the purchase was finally decided on. Cr. Richards seconded pro forma, but stated he must oppose the motion. The Council was over-spending on streets. They should not slavishly stick to the estimates dralwn up, but they should endeavour to be guided by them to some extent. The tarsprayer had not been included in the estimates.

Richards contended that the expenditure on streets to date was in excess of a reasonable proportion of tho total estimates for the year.
