POST OFFICE BUILDING.
A HOPELESS CASE,
PREMIER TO BE APPROACHED
From time to time the people, qf Stratford make .complaintfj, about their post office, but so far .no improvement has been made or promised. At last night’s meeting pf the Borough Council, Cr. King again brought up the question. He said the Council had brought the matter under the notice of the Premier and the Hon. W. Fraser, and he wanted to know if anything had since been heard of the matter.
The Mayor said nothing had been heard. In Mangaroa, which had not long been in existence as a town there was an immeasurably better post office than the one in Stratford. The Town Clerk said a sum'of £2OO was on the Estimates for alterations and additions to the post office. Cr. Boon said it should be impressed on the Government that it was useless to tinker with the present building. It was decided to again bring the matter under the notice of the Premier.
