A lire in Wilmot street destroyed a large five-storey building occupied by Johnson (manufacturing engineer) and Lyons Co. (Mantle manufacturers), and damaged the adjoining buildings. The damage amounts to £20,000. 000. Another outbreak at Balmain, consumed the Premier Pigment Company’s factory, John Sand’s paper mills, and the Pettit Manufacturing Company’s store. The damage is roughly estimated at £40,000.
