THE MARCONI CONTRACT. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 1.15 p.m.) London, August 8. In the House of Commons, Mr Masterman, in moving the acceptance ot tho Marconi contract, justified it on the ground of urgency, and pleaded for State ownership. Lord Robert Cecil claimed that the Government’ was giving a monopoly, and criticised tho managers offering the members of the Cabinet shares. Mr Samuel declared that the Government was fortunate in finding a company willing to invest half a million and receive no payment unless the wireless stations were satisfactory. Tho motion was carried by 321 to 110,
