WAINGONGORO NOTES.
[from our own correspondent.] Every year brings it's changes, great and small. Last Monday evening the many well-wishers of Mr H. Wolfe assembled at the residence of Mr R. H. Susans to bid him farewell. During the early part of the evening songs, musical items, and cards were indulged in, and at about 11 o'clock the guest of the evening was the recipient of a handsome clock and silver fruit stand.
Miss Eileen O'Sullivan made the presentation in the 'following happy little speech:—"Mr Wolfe, ladies and gentlemen, we, the children of the Waingongoro school, desire on behalf of our parents and friends to present vou with this memento as a mark of respect and recognition of the services you so willingly gave in obtaining a school for us so near our home's. We sincerely wish you every prosperity in your new home, and hope you will continue to carry, on the same good works in the future as you have in the past." Mr Wolfe, in a few well chosen words responded, after which was sung, "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow." The supper, which was done ample justice to, was then handed round by the ladies. Songs.and music were again resumed and the following contributed:—Misses C O'Sullivan, I. Susans, R. and I. O'Sullivan and Messrs A. O'Sullivan, H. Susans, P. Wolfe, C. Abbot, E. and C. O'Sullivan. The accompaniments were played by the Misses C. O'Sullivan and I. Susans. After spending an enjoyable evening, the gathering dispersed with cheers ( and the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
