HOPE FOR FUTURE PROGRESS

Mr Asquith, speaking at the Consumption Association meeting, eulogised the considerable work that had been done to check the scourge. They had reason to expect greater progress in the future, due largely to a steady and continuous improvement in sanitation and decenter dwellings. THE TUBERCULIN TEST. London, August 5.
At the tuberculosis conference, Dr. Woodhead, pathologist at Cambridge University, referring to the value of tuberculin under proper conditions, said that it exerted a favorable influence but never conferred complete immunity on either man or animals. Its indiscriminate and unintelligent use was a great danger. It had equal powers for evil and good.
