A good business man recognises that tho secret of success is to obtain full value for outlay. All patrons of the school entertainment on Thursday evening next can rely on receiving a little more oven than the full value of the price of admission. The varied programme has been prepared with a view to catering for everyone, and the management are confident that in this respect they have succeeded. There will be action songs, carefully prepared and carried out, by the younger children, the wee "toddlers" in their doll song, and the musical cantata "Dame School" by the elder pupils. This piece is expected to bring to light a- "Henry Irving" or a. "Melba," or possibly both. The speaking and .acting is free from the parrot-like recital, usually connected with school performances, as considerable time and trouble has been taken in this direction, and limelight effects will enhance the beauty of this "fairy" play. A vory efficient orchestra of ten instruments has also been arranged for and it appears certain that everything necessary to tho success of the evening has been provided. When it is stated that oven such a complete programme has not been allowed to interfere with the children's studies, but was prepared in their private time, tho public will readily admit that those in charge have adopted a course which must recommend itself to everyone. Tho curtain will riso at 8 p.m., and patrons are requested to bo seated by that time.
