Auckland, August 3. The Manat-City game ended in uproar. Neither team had scored two minutes from time, but right on time Dennehy, who had retired to the side lines through an injury, returned to the field, and being unmarked secured the ball from a kick by the City fullback and scored. The City players disputed the try, and about 300 spectators invaded the field and prevented the kick at goal being taken. Feeling ran high, and as an outcome of
alleged trouble on the field, a player and a line umpire fought in the dress-ing-room.
A WANGANUI VICTORY. Wanganui, August 3. The Wanganui representative team played Wairoa Sub-Union at Waverley on Saturday. A good game resulted in a win for Wanganui by 17 points i to 5. TUKAPA v. WAIMATE. The play-of? between Tukapa and Waimate, which is fixed to take place at Fdtham on Thursday afternoon next, is exciting much interest and should attract a large attendance.
