[Per Press Association.] Wellington, August 4. Following is the High Commissioner’s cable, dated London, August 2 ;

Butter.—The'market is quiet, and there is no improvement in demand, the supply being in excess of demand. Finest Danish is quoted at Is 2d lower. There are no quotations for New Zealand. Cheese.—The market is firm, with steady demand for New Zealand. According to most views, cheese is going to be dearer, opinions being based on the shorter supplies. New Zealand white 665, colored 65s to 665, white Canadian 64s 6d to 665, colored 65s to 665.
