President Wilson is Resisting strong pressure in tlie United States to recognise the Huerta Government. The American Ambassador at Mexico specially visited Washington to persuade President Wilson to accord his recognition. on the ground that it is certain to restore order. The President opposes recognition, because of the manner in which Huerta succeeded the Madero regime. The Senate Democrats support the President, who is formulating a policy with regard to Mexico.
