A brilliant ball was attended by hundreds of fashionable people in honor of tho officers of the battleship New Zealand. Thousands are visiting the warship in the harbor daily.
ADMIRALTY AND CANADA’S POLICY. !

1 The Canadian Club entertained Captain Halsey and the officers of H.M.S. New Zealand at luncheon. The speakers praised the Dominion’s loyalty. Captain Halsey, replying, said he had the Admiralty’s permission to state 1 thftt I ‘whatever Canadk decided to do to aid the Empire in war time that policy would be loyally carried out by the Motherland. He added that the reception given at Vancouver almost equalled that at Auckland. Both were magnificent.
