Sir George Reid’s report urges a searching enquiry into the treatment of Australian butter in England. He says: “The hidden mysteries of this trade should be thoroughly probed by a special commissioner. Such an enquiry might arrest the developments in the trade of substitutes for butter whereof the consumption is greatly increasing.”
