AWARDS FOR BRAVERY.

Chriistchurch, July 25
A meeting of the council of the Royal Humane Society was held tonight, when the following awards were granted:— Timothy Herlity, rescue from drowning in the Waikaru river on August 7, silver medal. Joseph H. Higginson, silver medal, and Constable Geo. Baker, bronze medal for rescue from adrarning house at Feathorston on March 28.
Frank Bell, late of Whangamomona, a letter of recommendation for preventing a demented man named Crawford from wandering into the bush at Tahora and go saving his life on May sth.
Nurse McFarlane, a framed certificate for assisting those hurt' in the derailment of the Ringamutu Company's train on September 3. R. Erwin, third officer of the Maori,
silver medal and framed certificate for rescue from drowning in Lyttelton on May 8.
das. Tait, a letter of recommendation for a rescue from drowning at Waikara on February 7.
Arthur Lukey, framed certificate for rescue of a girl from drowning at Caroline Bay, Timarn, on March 7.
