The Labor situation is a delicate one. The Trades’ Federation believe the Government intend to detacli the raihvaymeu by generous treatment. The Federation insists that the rail-way-men should hold out until the Miners’ demands are conceded.

The conference between the Government and the Labor leaders at Pretoria has concluded. Premier Botha intimated in his reply in writing that he believed the results would be generally satisfactory.
