Otto Madden, tho jockey, gave ovi denco that ho thought Wootton wa; lianging back through inexperience during tho race. He came within : neck or Stickup, and called out, “Wh;. don’t you lot him go?”

Sievier declined to go into tho wit-ness-box. In addressing the jury he denounced starting price betting by stables, and declared that Wootton was at tho top of the tree for everything foul in riding. Wootton war not a trainer of quadrupeds but of bipeds. His apprentices conveyed bis instructions to the horses. Frank Wootton was getting heavy, and was making a last desperate effort to win bets for bis father unmindful of the limbs of other jockeys.
