Miss Kenny appeared on the platform at the pavillion music hall and sold her prison licenses by auction for £l2 for the benefit of the political unions funds.
Mrs Pankhurst also came on to the platform amid tumultuous cheering. Both were arrested when leaving. After a violent struggle with the police, Mrs Pankhurst escaped m a taxicab, a crowd of women beating oft the detectives with parasols and sticks. A constable’s coat was torn off in the melee.
