THE METHODIST CHURCH.
QUARTERLY CIRCUIT MEETING
The Methodist Church quarterly circuit meeting was held 1 at Midhirst last, night. Reports of the work of the Church were received, and all were considered highly satisfactory. It Was reported’ that during the quarter arr exceptional sum had been rais4ed for various Objects. A stun of £6O .was reported to have been spent on parsonage furnlttire. A system tof finailce proposed by the circuit steward, Mr J. Musters, was adopted.' After the business meeting a fcda arranged by the Midhirst ladies was given, about a huridred people, sitting at the tables.' The Rev. Reader occupied the chair.
The Stratford choir rendered three anthems, and the Stratford orchestra a' selection. , The’Misses Eveiiss (2), and'Messrs * Everiss and Nelson sang a . quartette,’' vocal solos were contributed by MisS Cameron, Mrs Richards. and the Rev. Bandy, Mr and ’Mi'S" Bandy also giving a duet.
During the evening' addresses were given by the' Rev. Bandy (“Some Characteristics of Methodism wo must Pro,servo”)', by’Mr'J. Masters (a review of the quarter’s work), and by Mr E. Wright.
A comprehensive vote of ' thanks was passed on the motion! of Mr Fenwick, seconded by Mr P.w. Wellington.
