THE OPEXIXG CEREMONY
After a few weeks of canvassing in the Stratford district, a Lodge of the Independent Order of Oddfellows of j the American Constitution was sue-1 cessfully opened in the Foresters’ j Lodge room in Regan ' Street with twenty-five names on the list. Hie Grand Lodge officers were D.D.G.M. P.G. Bro. Donnally, Installing Master, j P.D.D.G.M. Bro. France as Grand j Marshall, P.G. Bro. Stubbs, of Star) of Egrnont Lodge, Eltham, as Grand Warden, and P.G. Bro. Davis, as Grand Conductor. The following officers were installed into their respective offices: —X.G., Bro. Thomas; A'.G., Bro. Blick; secretary, Bro. Thomson; treasurer, Bro. Fausett; R.S. to X.G., Bro. Marlow; L.S., Bro. Richardson; R.S. to V.G., Bro. Hodgeman; L. 5.,! Bro. Sauuass; Warden, Bro. Taylor ;j Conductor, Bro. Lamason. After the institution of the Lodge,! all present partook of refreshments,! when the usual loyal and other toasts were honored. Representatives from the local lodges were Bro. Sole, Manchester Unity, 1.0.0. F., Bro. Burgess, A.O. Foresters; and Bro. Ladd, Druids. The X.G. of the new lodge' proposed the toast of the Grand Lodge Officers, which was responded to by Bro. Donnally. The toast to the repre- ; sentatives of other lodges was proposed by Bro. France, and responded to by Bros. Sole, Burgess, and Ladd. I The proceedings were brought to a close by all present singing “Auld, Lang Syne.”
