The progress 1-eport of the inspectors appointed to investigate the affairs of the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society states that the reports of the tamers appointed to make valuations of tjie Society’s freehold and leasehold 1 properties in Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa had been 1 received, but owing to thp want of time they had not yet bedh admitted on actuarial investigation to lie thoroughly scrutinised, and certain ques- ! tions ih connection with the industrial department remained to be examined.
