LOYALTY OF METHODISTS.

PRESENTATION OF ADDRESS TO THE GOVERNOR. [Per Press Association.] Wellington, July 2.

To-day a deputation from the Methodist Conference, headed by the Rev. S. La wry, president, waited on the Governor and presented him with an address printed, on silk, congratulating him on his appointment, and expressing feelings of loyalty to the King on the part of the Methodist ministers in New Zealand. His Excellency, in replying, said that both Lady Liverpool and himself deeply appreciated the Conference’s wholehearted allusions to themselves. It would be their earnest endeavour to do all they could to further the interests of these lands both while they lived here and also on returning to England. The Governor warmly thanked the Conference for their expressions of loyalty to the King.
