THE VISIT OF THE KING. THE COMMONWEALTH POLICY
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] London, June .'SO- - King and Prince of Wales went aboard the battleship Australia. The King addressed the officers, and expressed appreciation of the ship. He wished them a pleasant voyage. The Pall >Lil! Gazette states that the King by his visit will send to the people of Australia a message that they by the action, which they ae<-m----ed good to take, are bearing their share of maintaining tho safety and honor of the Empire. The paper adds: "Those who are inclined to think that the Commonwealth policy is a selfish one must remember -.at Australia has good reasons for desiring a powerful fleet in the Pacific ; also, that the Commonwealth is spending more per head than the other Dominions; in fact, almost as much as the Motherland."
