AND HER DOMINIONS. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright 1 [United Press Association.] London, June 29. Three thousand colonial visitors accepted invitations to Captain and Mrs Boyd Carpenter’s reception to the High Commissioners and AgcntsGeneral.
The Hon/ J T. Mackenzie, replying to the toast, “.The Dominions,” said that they aspired to a share in Imperial responsibility. He hoped to see the day when units would have a voice in the Empire’s management. Sir Geo. Reid proposed “The Mother Country.” The Duke of Argyle, replying, referred to the valuable lessons taught by the daughters overseas. If Britain had such admirable systems of Government as the colonies had she might find a way out of some of her present difficulties, which would entirely satisfy Ireland.
