WARRNAMBOOL TO MELBOURNE ROAD RACE. ■ The Dunlop Rubber Co. advise the abandonment of the Warrnambool and all test races in connection witli the cycle road racp between that point and Melbourne. The trouble is due to the promoters not having suitable places in Melbo uenra iUonfhrdluao place in Melbourne to finish the event. Such enormous crowds have witnessed the finish of this race at Haymarket during past years that the police have been unable to control the' seething masses which attended the finish of the last two events, hence the refusal on the part of the City Council to consent to the finish at the well-known spot. The Dunlop Co. then approached the Victorian Racing Club with a view to being permitted the use of its main drive into Flemington racecourse. Some difficulty has no doubt been experienced, hence the decision of the Company. It is, however, decided to replace the Warrnambool to Melbourne road race this year with the Australasian 100' miles club team relay road race—£2os prizes, £IOO prize for winning team of 10 riders. The conditions will be issued next month.
