SOME INTERESTING FIGURES

Coaling operations on H.M.S. New Zealand were carried out witli remark able despatch. Work was commenced at 9 a.nr. on Monday, and the actual time worked up to this morning, allowing three hours for intervale and delays, was 13 hours 10 minutes. In that period 2728 tons were taken aboard from a collier and stowed away in the warship's bunkers, making an average per hour of 207.25 tons. This is looked upon as an excellent record by the ship's officers. Since leaving England the New Zealand lias been So days at sea, has steamed 19,216 miles, and has coaled nine times, taking in a total of 16,613 tons.
