The hearing of the journalists’ dispute lasted all through the day until late in the evening, witnesses coming from Dunedin and Wellington as well as Christchurch. The employers objected strongly to preference to unionists and to the limitation of hours. The Court adjourned in order that a conference might be held between the parties with a view to coming to an agreement.
