IMPALED ON A SHAFT.
Melbourne, June 8
(At Castlemaine last night, Alfred Southern (25), whilst riding on a motor-cycle, collided with a jinker containing three,ypung men. Motor and jinker were travelling at a fast pace air'd Southern was impaled on the shaft of the vehicle. The shaft passed right through his body from chest to |back, and death was instantaneous. A lad who was riding on the carry-all l of the cycle behind Southern escaped unhurt.
