Parliament opened to-day. The Governor's speech indicated that a Bill would be immediately introduced to make sugar-growing and manufacturing in Queensland a white labor industry, and provide that growers reoeive a direct amount equal to th 6 excise duty, which would be abolished, without deduction in respect of any lien on their crops or i*ny other encumbrance. Other measures foreshadowed include a Bill to raise a loan for the purpose of retiring several existing loans.
