MORE DEFAULTERS. [Per Press Association.] Christchurch, June 12. Three more youths were taken to Ripa Island this morning to undergo military detention in default of payment of lines under the Defence Act. PASSIVE RESISTERS. Timaru, June 12. The Magistrate to-day fined 7. Gromhie, a solicitor’s clerk, £3 and deprived him of civil rights for live years, for failing to comply with the requirements of the Defence Act. Defendant bad previously been fined £1 and £2 costs. Sixteen others were fined £2, ■four £l, and four 10s costs.
