RAILWAY ARRANGEMENTS. Stratford residents desiring to visit New Plymouth may travel by any of .he fblowing trains on the 17th• 7.35, 8.45, 9.10, and 9.35 a.m. Passengers for Toko will go by the 8.45 train. The train leaving Stratford at LlO a.m. will not take Stratford passengers. On the return trip trains taking Stratford passengers will leave Moturoa as follows3.lo, 3.35, 4.10, 1.45, 5.15. The passengers will travel by the 4.10 p.m. train.
No first-class tickets will be issued on the 17th.
Absolutely no goods traffic will be lealt with on the 17th, the shed being dosed.
Three booking windows will be pro-
vided at the railway station on the I.7th—two in the ticket lobby and one it some other point to he decided 'ater. It is hoped to have this third vindow somewhere outside the station jroper in order to give intending passengers as much room as possible. The stationmaster (Mr Campbell) dates that the regulation regarding diange will he strictly enforced—pas;engers must bring the exact change, it would he absolutely impossible for die railway staff to give even the smallest amount of change in the time it their disposal. In this connection it may be. mentioned that the fare from Stratford to Moturoa is 2s 9d.
Passengers should particularly reneinher to keep the ticket window: is ■ clear as possible. The railway staff, given the most favorable com litmus, will have a hard task, and their worry will he greatly increased f passengers, when they have purchased their tickets, fail to move right i way from the windows. Tickets for use on the 17th will he ssued on the 16th up to 9 p.m. Passengers may travel at excursion fares m the 16th, but if they are purchasng tickets for the 17th it will he icccsarsy 'tn state the fact, as all excursion tickets are available for the lay of issue only, and each day’s icket bears that day’s date.
THE ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL MATCH.
Mr Jas. J. East, secretary of the Taranaki Football Association, Iras received the following letter from the Rev. J. Henry Scott, Chaplain R.N., HALS. New Zealand, with regard to the Association football match to ho played with the Battleship next Tues-
H.M.S. New Zealand, Wellington, 10th June, 1913 Hear Sir,—-Re Association match
versus Taranaki Football Association on arrival of this ship at New Ply'll nut, I shall probably be on leave at the time, so that if there are any further details that you may require, will you kindly communicate with Petty Officer Reed (painter), H.M.S. New Zealand. I conclude that you are arranging all details as to time, etc., through the Sports Committee, and therefore it will be entered in the programme of events during the day that we are off New Plymouth, in which case it will lie posted up by the ship’s office who deal with the general arrangement of events at each place.
I trust that the weather will allow ns to land, hut in winter, when the ship is lying at an open anchorage, there must always he a certain amount of doubt.
