A STRANGE AFFAIR.
- o HOTEL EMPLOYEE SHOOTS AT A STRANGER. THEN COMMITS SUICIDE. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, June 10. As the result of an argument in a hotel bar, a man drew a revolver and fired three ,shots at another, who was struck in the neck, but is recovering. The assailant then fired at himself and died shortly afterwards. NO MOTIVE ASSIGNABLE, WOUNDED MAN DOING WELL. (Received 8.40 a.m.) Sydney, June 11. The shooting is a mysterious affair. Clinton, the wounded man, a cabdriver, arrived from Melbourne yesterday. He states that he was talking to the barman when the dead man, Charles Steed, an employee in the hotel, came up without a word, produced a revolver and fired. No motive is asignable for the deed. Clinton’s condition is not serious.
