ANNUAL SCOTTISH CONCERT.
A foretaste of the good things to be provided at the second annual concert under the auspices of the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society, to he held at the Town Hall on Thursday evening, was given on Saturday evening, when members of rhe Society’s pipe band promenaded Broi l way and treated those who were abroad to “a bit skirl.’ No effort is being spared to make the concert a success, and to this end leading vocalists have been retained, including Miss Sogrief (Wellington), Miss Knight (Lower Hutt) and Miss Nielson (Haw-era). The services of Messrs TarrarASearie, Sutton and Whitehall, whose unaccompanied quartettes are highly peular with the public, have been secured. and Mies Taylor (Fitzvoy), a clover Scottish recite”, and Mr F. H. Wilkie, whose humorous Scottish impersonations are well-known to Stratford residents, will also contriute items. After the concert supper will he served, the evening’s entertainment being concluded with a dance.
