“WAITING AT THE CHURCH.”

[Per Press Association.] Wellington, June 5. A mild sensation was caused in Petone yesterday, when a wedding, which was timed to take place at 2.30, was brought to a sudden stop owing to the bridegroom failing to put in an appearance. All the guests had assembled, ami were with the bride awaiting the groom’s appearance. As the quarter hours sped by, however, and became half hours, and then whole hours, comedy gave place to a more serious view of. the proceedings, and then the arrangements were cancelled by the bridegroom, who resides in Christchurch. The latter wired cancelling the marriage license.
