SALE OF JERSEYS.

GOOD PRICES REALISED. At their Stratford yards yesterday Messrs Webster, Dobson and Co. held an unreserved sale of Mr W. M. Bayly’s Jersey herd, when there was an excellent attendance of buyers from all parts of Taranaki, and good prices were realised for the stock offered. The top price (120 guineas) was paid by Mr R. J. Linn for Ruth 11, a cow well-known in the show ring and for her butter-fat production. The prices paid were no doubt influenced by the fact that all the cows wore in calf to Molina’s General, the son of Noble of Oaklands, the famous Jersey sire. There was good competition in the grade section, some ot the cows fetching 16 guineas. Mr F. W. Webster wielded, the hammer during the greater part of the sale, being relieved by Mr P. Budd (of the N.Z.L. and M.A. Co’s, staff) whilst absent at an auction sale of property.

A number of Jerseys were submit? ted on behalf of Mr R. T. B. Mellow', but the bids received did not reach the owner’s idea of their value.
