TO THE SYDNEY TELEGRAPH. [Pee Press Association.] Auckland, June 4. When the Sydney Daily Telegraph’s cabled comments came under Mr Allen’s notice, the Minister said the Ward Government never advanced a separate unit policy, hut suggested that a direct contribution be made to tho Imperial Government to be expended as the British Admiralty thought fit. He (Mr Allen) declared that was a very different thing to a separate unit policy. He could not understand the reference to the mosquito fleet. As understood by tho Government, it was a fleet of submarines and torpedo boat destroyers adapted 1 for defence of the coast and harbors of Great Britain,
