COUNTING THE MICROBES.
"WHEN THE PIE WAS OPENED." London, May 21. A bacteriologist noticed a little boy making mud pies in a playground at Lyons. France. Out of curiosity he look one of the "pics" and examined it. The scientist found that the mud contained' 1,800,000 germs of diphtheria, 2,450,000 of measles ,900,000 of smallpox, .'IOOO,OOO of lockjaw, 900,000 of dysentryj 505,000 of pneumonia, and ,520,00 of tuberculosis.
