A PICTURESQUE CENTENARY. By Electric Telegraph—Copyright! [United Press Association" Sydney, May 28. The Blue Mountain celebrations were held in glorious weather. The various mountain centres were gaily decorated. The principal locality for the festivities was Mount Victoria, where Sir Gerald Strickland dedicated Victoria Park. He then proceeded to Mount York, where he unveiled x memorial tablet on a pavilion erected in honor of Messrs Blanchard, Wentworth and Lawson, three pioneers who discovered the route across the mountains. Tho proceedings tonight will include the lighting of bonfires on a hundred points, from Orange to Prospect. r , A UNIQUE SPECTACLE.
(Received 10.5 a.m.) Sydney, May 29. The whole of the mountain townships are en fete. One thousand school children participated. Speeches by Ministers and others eulogised the pioneers. A chain of beacons, covering the hill tops right across the ranges, made a unique and splendid spectacle. Numbers of fire balloons were released.
