THE FEDERAL ELECTIONS. EFFECT OF THE RESTRICTIONS.

Sydney, May 27. The strenuous Federal election campaign is drawing to a close. Both parties have thrown great vigor in the fight but signed articles in the press and the provision for other restrictions in the amended Electoral Act robbed much of the quondam excitement and bitterness. Jt is predicted that the voting will he heavier and closer than at the last election.
