A GRAVE CHARGE.

CEMETERY DESECRATION.

THE ACCUSED WEAK-MINDED

[Per Press Association.] Wairoa, -May 27

A man named Edwards, in addition to confessing to desecration of a grave, admitted tampering with another grave some time ago. Ho had evidently refilled it. but it was done so badly that the sexton was misled into thinking that it was merely the usual subsidence. It is assumed that he also broke a second coffin, as a screw was found in the loose earth.

Accused was medically examined, and though he was found not to lie insane, his record is so bad that it is doubtful if he is fit to plead.
