FATAL BOXING BOUT.
ARREST OF HUNDREDS. [By Electric Telegraph—CoPYiftGHT] [United Press Association.] Ottawa, May 25. In a ten-round bout at Calgary, a boxer named Pelky hit his opponent, Luther McCarthy, over the heart. McCarthy fell dead in the ring. The mounted police arrested hundreds at Calgary after the death of McCarthy, including the promoters the fight.
ARRESTED FOR MANSLAUGHTER
(Received 10,25 a.m.) Ottawa, May 25
Pelky has been arrested on a charge of manslaughter. Previous to the commencement of the fight a local minister entered the ring and spoke in the interests of boxing as a sport.
