Some injury was caused in the Balfour Laboratory of Genetics adjoining. A canister with 121 b of gunpowder was found in Dalkeith Park Chapel, with the fuse partially burned.
THE PANKHURST SPIRIT. While Christa bed Pankhurst opposed the abandonment of militancy, some other leaders, realising that the extreme action had alienated public sympathy, recommend substituting a vigorous educational campaign. TURNING THEM DOWN. Anna Shaw, an American suffragist, in a speech in London, declared that England was the one great factor with which American suffragists’ had to contend. The women’s conduct in England satisfied Americans that women were unsafe with the ballot. Consequently American women were being voted down. MISS CHRISTABEL’S CAMPAIGN. It is reported that - the Foreign Office has drawn the attention of the French authorities to the fact that Miss Christahel Pankhurst is abusing their hospitality by conducting a criminal campaign. REBELLIOUS MILITANCY. (Received R.O a.in.) London, May 18. Mr Dillon, testifying against a window-smasher in Dublin, said ho heard his window smashed, but did not trouble to ascertain the cause. The prisoner asked Mr Dillon whether he signed the petition giving Jameson full political rights, and Mr Dillon replied in the affirmative. Being asked whether he approved of Jameson’s act, he replied that rebellious militancy was disgraceful, but he did not consider rebellion disgraceful.
