STRATFORD POULTRY SOCIETY.
Residents of Stratford will be keenly interested and pleased to know that the above Society is agilin to hold a general show. Even a greater interest is being taken by members than was the case last year. With new members has edme new ideas, and this year’s 'show should eclipse any show of its kihd held in Stratford. The committee has been on the hunt for ndVfelties, and several of the most interesting are added to the Society’s schedule. Chief among Laeae is the home industries departimmt, the great baby show, guessing competitions, and in all probability an art union. But the chief draw undoubtedly will be the allotment of championships. These will be on a far more representative scale than formerly. Instead of being North Island Championships this year, the Society will have the New Zealand Championships to allot. When it is remembered that Stratford has been favored with no less than fourteen New Zealand Championships, it will be at once recognised that great and keen competition will result. Owing to the previous secretary (Mr C. Downey) being unable to retain the position, Mr T. Ladd has been elected. Schedules will be out of the printer’s hands shortly, when all interested will he, able to secure them from members, of the committee.
