The Telegraph’s Peking correspondent reports that the Austrian demand tor a share of the quintuple loan to the extent of 3J millions came as a surprise to the quintuple syndicate. Investigations show that the Austrian group consists of the Krupp and Skoda works, which allied to secure a monopoly of the Chinese arras steel market.
