,■ r ■. . i.ii (fujitj '[ vj.l •>>' U hat is believed to be a domestic record may be claimed by Air Frederick Bush Beckett, a Great Yarmouth baker and retired armorer-eorgeant from the old Volunteers, who had just celebrated has silver wedding avitji his second wife. Mr Beckett was first married when 19, and is now 04. He has had in all 33 children, of whom 19 are still alive and 10 are living at home. He .had 11 children by his first wife and 22 by his present wife. Mr Beckett was unable to state the names of all bis children. “But,” he said, “I can show you what some of them have cost me.” After displaying a number of hills, he produced a bundle of photographs yvhich, when spread out almost covered the table. “These,” he said, “are photographs of a few of them. Every night we have a roll-call to see that all the children are in.” With the assistance of his wife and reference to a bundle of birth certificates,the following list of Air Beckett’s children and grandchildren was compiled : First Family.— Out of 11 children by his first wife the following are living;— Annie Maria, married, 44. i Frederick George, married, 43. William Edward, single, 38. Albert Victor, single, 38.Aland Elizabeth, married, 35. Of these Annie has five children, Frederick six, and Maud three, so that Air Beckett has 14 grandchildren from his first family. Second Family.— Tl ic children by his second wife are : Frederick Silvcsta, married, 24. .Neville George, single, 23. Arthur Blomfield, married, 22. Dorothy Clarissa, single, 21. Alfred, dead. Mildred Aland, single, 19. James, 17. Sidney Stephens, 16. Elsie Winifred, 15. Lottie Aland, dead. Edith Blomfield, 12. Stanley Charles, 11. Gordon Harold, 10. Spencer, 8. Horace,!. * Leslie Percy, 2. Xoel, dead. There wore four more children who
died before having been named. Frederick and Arthur have each one child, which brings the total of Mr Lockett’s grandchildren to 16.
