MATTHEWS, T3EXXETT AXD CO’S. REPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. report that, there was only a small yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Good store cows were in good demand. , Calves made from £1 7s to £2 9s, backward store cows £2 to £2 14s, good do. £3 os to £1 15s, springers £4 l"s (3d to £G 12s 6d,* bulls £4 to £5 ss, f.m. ewes os 9d. XEWTOX KIXG’S WEEKLY REPORT. At Urenui on Monday, sth inst., I offered a small entry of sheep and cattle at a good attendance. Good conditioned cows and weaner heifers were in demand, but other lines were hard' to quit. Prices realised were as follows —Colored weaner heifers £2 10s to £2 11s 6d, grade weaner heifers £1 15s Od to £2 ss, small weaner steers 10s to £1 5s Gd, springing heifers (in demand) £5 17s 6d to £7 2s 6d, store cows £2 17s to £3 13s, fat cows £5 2s 6d to £6 Bs, 18 months to 2 year steers £3 to £4, lambs 10s, culls ss, 2-tooth ewes 10s, 4-tooth wethers 15s 9d.
At Rahotu on Tuesday, Gth inst., there was a fair entry and attendance and the majority of the lines were sold as follows:—-Colored weaner heifers £3 3s 6d; grade weaner heifers up to £2, weaner steers £1 Os 6d to £2 2s, according to quality, mixed weaner s£l 7s Cd- to £1 13s Gel,- store cows £2 6s to £3 15s (id, 'forward and fat cows £4 15s to £5 Bs, 20month heifers in calf £4 ss, dairy bull £4 ss.
On Wednesday, 7th inst., for my Okau autumn sale there was a good entry of sheep and cattle and a largo attendance of the public from all parts. Competition throughout was good for nearly all lines, the whole entry, with the exception of two small lines of sheep, being cleared at the hammer at the following rates: — Weaner heifers £1 17s, small mixed weaners 16s, store cows £3 to £3 17s, forward and fat cows £1 4s to £5 Ifte, empty 18 month -heifers £3 5s to £3 15s, 18 to 20 months in calf heifers £4 Is, bulls £2 10s to £5 15s, 18 to 20 month steers £3 14s 6d, 2 year steers £4 6s 6d, 2} year steers £4 18s springing heifers £6 2s 6d, 2,4, and 6 tooth wethers 13s 2d, forward weth-' ers 15s 3d, lambs 10s 3d, 9s 2d, 7s Gd. i;
