[By Electric Telegraph— Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 8.30 a.m.) Sydney, April 24. The Empire Trade Commission has concluded its sitting in Sydney. Mr Trefle in his evidence said the State Savings Bank provided a million pci annum for settlement purposes, and already had received applications for £1,200,000. He was: confident he would place three million during the current year in assisting bona fide settleis. . The banks were very tight, and the people were not met in any shape or form to the extent they should for the development of the country. The President of the Harbour Board said the improvements were providing 42,000 feet of wharf frontage to cost 6.i million. They would take a decade to complete at the present rate, but the developments would bo fully wanted by that time.
