The races opened in glorious weather. There was a large attendance. Results:—
Mast er ton Hack Handicap.—Sir Moseley 1, Master Lupin 2, Despatch Carrier 3. Scratched: Whakapora, Cadbnia, Microbe, Conzenska, Sailor King,, and Berg. Won easily. Time, lihin 3sec.
Masterton Hack Handicap.—Redloh 1, Glenfern 2, Arohakau 3. Scratched: Papamarama, Lord Palmer, Elevated, George. Won by a head. Time, Imin 42sec. April Handicap,—Leapuki 1, Aloha 2, Mon Aini 3. All started. Won by a length. Time, Imin IGsec. Chip.—Leonta 1, Ceylon 2, Vi 3. Scratched: Warqueen. Won by a length. Time, 2min 9 1-5 sec. Rrank woo'tton’s health. (Received 12.33 a.m.) London, April 23. The latest operation on Frank Woofton’s throat ~has , given great relief, and he is more hopeful of resuming riding this season. A London cablegram states that Tile City and Suburban Handicap resulted: —Urinmore 1, Limon 2, Lorah/.o 3.
