A SUDDEN DEATH. [Peh Press Association.] Wellington, April 21. Matilda Shires, a married woman living in lodgings in Hankey street, was found dead in bed this morning. She appeared iu good health on Sunday evening, but it is stated that she has suffered from fits for some time past. KILLED IN A.GRAVEL PIT. Invercargill, April 21. Information was received by the police to-day that.a married man named Frank Dorling, aged 28, was found in a gravel pit near his house at Wyndham at 4 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. Deceased left his home at about 11 o’clock in the morning. He was subject to fits, and it is supposed that he accidentally fell into the pit. RUN OVER BY A TRAM-CAR. Wellington, April 21. At the inquest on the seaman Dillon, who was killed by a tram-car, a verdict of accidental death, with no one to blame, was returned. The Coroner added a warning to the public to exercise greater care when crossing the road, remarking especially upon the danger of going at the rear of one car, before seeing if the adjoining line was clear. The neglect to take this precaution was responsible for this fatality. RUN OVER BY A TRUCK. Invercargill, April 21. An accident occurred on the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company’s siding at the Bluff this afternoon. One of the shed hands named Robert Campbell fell under a horsedrawn truck, and'was dragged, along by the brake. He was found to be suffering from dislocation of the back and a wound in the head. Ho was removed to the hospital.
