I BALLOON IN DIFFICULTIES

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 8 a.in.) Paris, April 18. The occupants of a balloon were ■seen to be in difficulties at Foutenay. Sousbois apparently allowed too much gas to escape, and it struck a housetop. Storm, iiai I,\ and rain then swept the balloon for five miles, drifting against houses and telegraph posts. It finally collapsed and five persons were killed. GREAT MONOPLANING FEAT. (Received 9.45 a.m.; Hainil estimates that in his monoplane, with a passenger, he flew 440 miles. He experienced severe storms in Belgium and was compelled to rise to a great height and was driven to the north-east. He traversed live countries, and carried 17801 b weight.
